How much wood stain do I need for a 36"x20" wooden sign?

I looked up on google and with the math they had I counted it's not much so I ordered 1/2 quart of wood stain. Now that it came in the mail it looks pretty small. From your experience, do you think it'll cover the 36"x20" area well?
