Broke a teacup I love, is there any way I can figure out kintsugi?

I broke a teacup that means dearly to me, and I would like to repair it with something like kintsugi, where the cracks are filled in with resin and gold powder. Here's the wiki page for kintsugi

I wouldn't mind getting it repaired by someone else but these services seem really costly and pretty rare, I don't think many people in the United States specialize in it. Kits are around $90 and seem to never have a description of what's in them. It doesn't have to be authentic, I would just like something to seal in the cracks and have this metallic fill look, but I'm dissatisfied with the faux kintsugi I've seen online that just have gold paint over the cracks.

I've worked with ceramics before though never repairs, and I'm very handy. Can anybody offer me any suggestions?

Here's my cup, I have all the pieces with a few tiny slivers missing

How much wood stain do I need for a 36"x20" wooden sign?

I looked up on google and with the math they had I counted it's not much so I ordered 1/2 quart of wood stain. Now that it came in the mail it looks pretty small. From your experience, do you think it'll cover the 36"x20" area well?
